this i believe
Think Before we Talk
I believe that it is important to “think before we talk.” We want to say what we have in our mine, but we shouldn’t because words might hurt others. We all get angry, and when we get angry we want to express it. We wants to express how we feel, what we want, and what we hate; we want to yell loudly to release our anger. When we think before we talk we can make everything better and more valuable.
I believe thinking must precede talking. Every word that comes out of our mouth can cause us trouble or make everything better. In the course of our daily conversation we might accidentally say something that can hurt other people if we don’t think thoroughly before we talk. Words can become enemies or helpers. Words can become our enemy when we say something that hurt other people and alienate them. Parents and children misunderstanding bet may lead to other problems. If couples don’t learn to respect each other in their conversation, their love may end. Words may become helpers because they can get us out of trouble; good words make the listeners happy and help us get what we want.
To think before I talk is very important to me, and I strongly believe in it because it has helped me learn big lessons and it changed people perception on me. I have a hot temper and I never cared about anyone and I would say whatever I wanted, but that stopped when it occurred to me that I hurt a person who I loved the most.
One day my mom and I had a big fight, and I said some words to her that I was not suppose to say. I hurt her feelings very much, and I didn’t even know that I had hurt her feelings. For two days my mom didn’t talk to me which hurt me badly, too. So from that event, I learned a lesson that I need to “think before I talk”. My mom can forgive me, but if it happens to someone else it might be difficult. So from then on, I changed my habit of talking back. I try to stay quiet when I am angry or I pretend to not hear what people say to me. I think before I talk, and it makes everyone happy and I do not hurt anyone’s feelings. Just think before talk because the words once spoken cannot be taken back.
